Urban Village Hinaki

The Hinaki Urban Village is an example of our design teams ability to develop a concept that marries principles of environment and cultural design to produce what we believe is an environment health to both the physical and emotional well-being of the local population.

 

Village Design



 Starfish are currently in the process of developing a model for small village development. 

Woodstove Project

As part of our commitment to the people of the South Pacific and holistic approach to environmental issues we are currently researching simple technologies that provide a healthy and environmentally viable options. One of these projects involves the distribution of rocket style cook stoves.

Economic Innovation

Across the group we are each committed to projects that revolve around capacity building through economic development. This can be in the form of national wealth modelling or via small workplace innovations such as optimised eye wear for fruit pickers.

Pacific Wellness Centre

Scoping is underway for the development of the Pa Ariki Palace Wellness Centre.

 

Commissioned by Pa Ariki of Rarotonga the Starfish Team have been asked to develop a 5 year plan for the establishment of a centre that helps to address issues affecting the health of Cook Islanders such as Diabetes.

 

This project will take a holistic approach including food production. diet, exercise and community education and employment.
